A Flower Of Love
by Danny A. Cooke

You are my flower and I am your stem
We start as a bulb in the cool of the land
The warmth of the sun and moisture of rain
Natures life juices of that which we need
Reaching and pushing and hoping for more
Busting the surface the warmth from above
And open our eyes to the trees that are green
With butterflies fluttering near and so far

We grow and we grow as I hold you so close
In anticipation of another great year
I hold you so high as you reach for the stars
And gracefully sway to the singing of birds
With natures own orchestra and songs of true love

I've held you and loved you and pushed you to grow
And then in a moment you're growing no more
You open and show us in yellows and red
The nectar of love to share with those near

Another great year another one done
The cycle repeating so close we've become
I love you I need you we're bonded as one

So into the ground we will go once again
It's warm and we'll stay there until winters done
All cozy and cuddled we wait until spring
The warmth from the skies heats our home that we live
And then we start over our year once again
