When You Return
by Andrea Krahn
My heart is yours
Your soul has freed me
The bitter rain pours, nevermore
Please, love never decieve me
Now, you are so far away
From my lingering embrace
My heart yearns to see the day
When I can finally see your face
Oh, love why does it have to hurt so much?
When all I want is your sweet touch
But, when I see you once again
My luring pain will disappear
My infinite fears will be slain
And dry away each single tear
Your skin is different than mine yet,
both of our skin feels like silk.
Your hair is blonde, my hair is black.
Your lips are small, my lips are full.
You have broad shoulders, I have wide hips.
Your heart beats, my heart skips a beat.
Your love is unconditional, my love is too.
So Much Hate
by Eve Hall
Whites against Blacks
Daughters against mothers
Sons against fathers
Sisters against brothers.
Why so much hate?
Where is the love for one another,
where are the morals and the guidance?
Where is the unity and peace,
where is the security and brotherhood?
Where is this nation headed?
When will we be united as one family,
when will prejudice and racism be erased?
When will neighbor truly love neighbor,
when will Martin L. King's dream come true?
It starts with the golden rule,
Loving others as you love yourself.
